I have seen the numbers of individuals using social media more for their courses like the article pointed out. I have seen how technology has changed over the little time that I have been here. Many courses today use these technologies as part of their courses. You see classes making social media groups. A lot of times, classes will meet online and have discussions. When I was growing up in school, we did not have these resources. Even when I visit elementary school classes, some of these classes have smart boards. So our younger generations are using these technologies from preschool on. I think this is a good way to keep students active in their courses.
Computers are the way of the future. You can watch a two year old operate a computer device better than some adults. In the article, it was stated that these kids will have a shorter attention span. This is one thing I do not agree with. I feel that the attention span will come from their personal traits, not the fact that they grew up using the computer. In all, I feel that this will impact education in a positive way. I feel that more courses will be able to be offered. Students will be able to assess more information and get it quicker. Students will be able to have a greater base of knowledge.
In discussing the technologies in this course. I would add using social media, podcasting and blogging into my career. I feel that I could use these daily. I would be able to get in contact with my athletes faster over social media. I feel that most of these individuals are messaging on some type of social media site more than their phones. When they are on their phones, they are also on Facebook, Twitter or another site. I can use podcasting and blogging to send information to all of my athletes. I can use this to educate them of injuries, nutrition or other important topics.
This technology is very useful and helpful in the educational scene. I think that adding this resource to a course is very beneficial for the students. Students can make presentations on their devices and upload them so the class can view it. It allows for students to listen to a lecture anytime and anywhere. It allows athletes who have to miss class for sporting events to be able to not miss the information. It allows parents who have to miss class because their children are sick to listen to what was discussed in class. It also allows students who do not speak a language well, to repeat the lecture until they understand it. Podcasting is a great tool and all teachers should use this technology.

The internet has impacted my learning a great deal. 99% of all of the research I perform is on the internet. I rarely go into a library to check out a book to look up information. The internet is no much quicker and easier to navigate through. When I go to look up information, I use my school library database. I also sometime use a google search or YouTube video to learn more about a particular topic. At this time, there are no authors that I follow on the internet. Most of the people I follow are on YouTube. I subscribe to their channels and I get a lot of helpful videos and advice on different things that I am interested in. The internet helps with my learning most of the time. I use it to research and find all of the information that I need. The problem comes when I want to check my email or social media. That can pull me away from my studies for hours sometimes. That is the only time it is not a good thing. Technology and learning goes hand and hand. The new technologies and advances are making learning so much easier. From kids in pre-school to young adults in college. Technology has allowed us to search or perform research. It has allowed us to have classes all times of the day. It has allowed us to communicate with classmates on the other side of the planet to perform group work. I feel that technology is very important and it needs to continue to evolve.
I know I am in my “sweet spot” when I am helping others get better and reach their goals. If it is recovering from an injury, helping someone lose weight or helping someone improve their athletic skills. When I am working with people in these areas, I am in my element.
I am not in my element when I am forced to work in a situation that I do not like. I am forced to work with coworkers who are always negative and bossy. The negative energy from these individuals can bring my spirits down and make my work day long and unhappy. Another area where I am not in my area of strengths is public speaking. I have never like to get in front of a lot of people. I get a lot of anxiety in those situations.
@willie66747818 Twitter is one great social media tool. It is a good way for people to stay in contact with one another as well. I feel that is can also be a great tool in education. In today’s society, younger individuals are using these types of sites. These sites can be a useful way to get in contact with students and faculty. This can be a great way to students to stay in contact with classmates. If these sites are not abuse and used for the wrong reasons, they can be great tools.
A good PWP for an educator would show that work that this educator is dealing with. It can also highlight research that the educator and done. The things that I like about the PWP is that it can give us feedback. We can look into what an educators philosophies are and see if they are of interest to us. This can help in determining if that individual is someone I would want to pursue for helping me further my career. What I have seen so far, the educators PWP is professional. I have seen a few that has both personal and professional information presented.
